I’m a Fellow Chartered Accountant (FCA) with a 30-year career in financial systems, since 1997. My edge is that I’m equally comfortable in the data and in the room with the business — I write the SQL and build the migration tools myself, rather than just directing the people who do. That combination has taken me through 24 countries, three generations of the same core banking platform, and, more recently, an in-house lending system built on a modern web stack.
Devised a fuzzy-matching data interrogation system enabling institutional client charge-back of postage costs, delivering c. €30,000/month in savings.
Career break, coinciding with the Covid-19 pandemic. Maintained technical currency through personal projects.
Delivered core banking implementations across Sub-Saharan Africa, offshore and Gulf financial centres, and Europe; extended into Finastra Trade Finance (2017–2020, London and Paris).
